My Job

Position: Glorified Babysitter
I work at a gym watching kids while their parents workout. The idea was that I have activities and games to do when the kids get there. But when the kids are between the ages of 2 and 10 the age difference really hinders anything happening the way it should. If I find something for the older kids then the younger kids can't do it. If I find something the younger kids can do then the older kids are bored.

Meanwhile, there are gymnastics classes and people playing basketball around us. The little ones want to run over there and play. The older kids are interrupting the games and throwing balls towards the gymnastics mats. If I ask the kids to play nicely or stop something disruptive they roll their eyes and ignore me. I never wanted to be a babysitter. Never ever. It really isnt even a very safe environment.

So my classes are will be the same time I work this job. I asked my boss if there was any other position I could work. She filled the jobs in the gym, but there maybe some hours as a receptionist. It makes me mad because she knew I wanted more hours and she filled the other part-time jobs. I have never done anything wrong at this job. I am always on time. I haven't called in. Of course, I have only been there a month and a half, but a lot of 20 year olds would have already been acting stupid.
